Company introduction

Namhansanseong Soju is a distinguished producer of traditional Korean spirits, dedicated to preserving the legacy of an officially designated Intangible Cultural Heritage of Gyeonggi-do. In 1994, the late Master Kang Seok-pil was officially recognized as the inaugural holder of this intangible heritage. Today, this prestigious tradition is carried forward by second-generation Master Artisan Kang Hwan-gu.

1994
• The late Kang Seok-pil was designated as the holder of the Gyeonggi-do Intangible Cultural Heritage for Namhansanseong Soju
2001
• Launched Namhansanseong Soju
2005
• Launched Korea’s first 100% eco-friendly Korean rice fresh makgeolli, Chamsari Takju
2009
• Chamsari Takju received the Grand Gold Prize at the Korea Traditional Liquor Quality Awards
• Began exporting Chamsari Takju to the United States
2010
• Opened the Namhansanseong Soju Culture Center
• Provided production sponsorship for the KBS drama Cinderella's Stepsister
• Chamsari Takju selected as a banquet liquor for the Blue House
2011
• Released Honey Makgeolli collaboration with Joseon Tavern
2012
• Organized and hosted the Gyeonggi Makgeolli Grand Festival
2017
• Released Namhansanseong Soju 23% and 25% alcohol versions
2020
• Launched Namhansanseong Makgeolli
2021
• Current CEO Kang Hwan-gu designated as the holder of the Gyeonggi-do Intangible Cultural Heritage for Namhansanseong Soju
• Released premium fruit fresh makgeolli Strawberry Banana Makgeolli
2022
• Released The Master Collection, a collaboration project featuring Gyeonggi-do Intangible Cultural Heritage
• Renewed Namhansanseong Soju and launched the 21% alcohol version
• Released collaboration product 21.7 with Obok Susan
2025
• Released Namhansanseong Soju Miniature edition
• Developed Namhansanseong Soju characters “Cheongseolmong” & “Chwiseoli”
• Released Brand Goods including Namhansanseong Soju Day & Night Glass Set and Chwiseoli – the Tipsy Squirrel
• Conducted the cultural policy support project “Traditional Culture Experience with Namhansanseong Soju” under the Namhansanseong Cultural Arts Policy Support Program
